Blossom Hill Ceramics (Blossom Hill Crafts) offers pottery classes, including a beginner class series, one-time classes, workshops, private events, and intermediate and advanced weekly classes. Blossom Hill Crafts states its mission as “Nurturing creativity & the passion for clay.” The program operates within a studio space of over 3200 square feet that includes three 40 cubic ft gas kilns, three electric kilns, a Raku kiln, a spray booth, and a porcelain-only studio with 4 wheels, a slab roller, handbuilding space, and member storage. Membership includes clay for 16 of 20 high and midfire clays, glaze, firings, workshops, and full use of the studio, with additional stoneware clays and porcelains available for purchase at a discounted rate to members. The studio offers 5 types of firing: Reduction cone 10, Oxidation cone 10, Oxidation cone 5/6, Raku, and Luster cone 018, and six kilns fire as soon as they are full, usually twice per week. Pots are boarded by the studio three times per day for all students and members, seven days a week, and free workshops are offered every quarter for members, with topics based on members’ needs and suggestions and outside artists periodically invited to teach at a discount to members. Blossom Hill Crafts has a 55-year history and is described as a vibrant artistic community with over 200 artists and 40 new students each month, and members and staff are described as being like family.
