About

Summer at Peninsula offers a three- or six-week summer experience that brings Peninsula traditions such as edging and uniquely Peninsula games into daily classes. The program’s summer classes are staffed primarily by year-round teaching staff and Peninsula School alumni who previously trained as summer interns. Children enrolled in Summer at Peninsula can also enroll in extended care that runs later in the day.

• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Session 1 runs June 15–July 2, with closures on June 19 and July 3; Session 2 runs July 6–July 24, with morning classes from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. and afternoon classes from 1–3 p.m.; extended care is available from 3–5:30 p.m.

Summer childcare is only open to Summer at Peninsula participants, and there is no drop-in option for summer childcare, preschool, or daily programs. Summer at Peninsula is open to students from outside the Peninsula School community, while summer preschool is only open to currently enrolled Peninsula preschool students, including those starting preschool in the fall. Children are expected to bring their own packed lunches, snacks, and water bottles, and any medications must be brought in original packaging with instructions for administering.

Peninsula School has served as a beacon of progressive education for 100 years. It is an independent preschool–8th grade progressive school that states as its mission nurturing the whole child, building upon children’s natural curiosities, and preparing students to become confident contributors in the world. Summer staff offer insights into the campus and model Peninsula’s culture of care and respect as they carry on long-standing school traditions during the summer program.
