Summer at Peninsula offers a three- or six-week summer experience that brings summer staff traditions like edging and uniquely Peninsula games to life. The program invites children entering kindergarten through eighth grade to explore their interests, build new friendships, and make memories in a caring, supportive, and natural environment. Summer childcare is only open to Summer at Peninsula participants, and there is no drop-in for summer childcare, preschool, or daily programs.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Session 1 runs June 15–July 2 (closed June 19 and July 3), and Session 2 runs July 6–July 24 with morning classes from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. and afternoon classes from 1–3 p.m.; extended care is available from 3–5:30 p.m. for an additional fee, and families can choose a three- or six-week experience
• Price: Cancellations on or before May 1 receive a refund minus a 25% administrative fee; cancellations after May 1 are non-refundable, fees are not prorated, and families must pay the full listed cost for any session or class selected; extended care from 3–5:30 p.m. is available for an additional fee
Summer preschool is only open to currently enrolled Peninsula preschool students, including those starting preschool in the fall. Students from outside the Peninsula School community are invited to register and attend Summer at Peninsula. Children should bring their own packed lunches, snacks, and water bottles, and any medications must be in original packaging with instructions, shared with teachers and directors, and listed on the child’s emergency contact and medical information form.
Summer at Peninsula classes are staffed primarily by year-round teaching staff and Peninsula School alumni who previously trained as summer interns. Peninsula School is an independent preschool–8th progressive school that nurtures the whole child, builds upon children’s natural curiosities, and prepares students to become confident contributors in the world. For 100 years, Peninsula School has served as a beacon of progressive education and creates a space where children develop their full promise in an inclusive community rich with choices, exploration, and play.
