• Schedule: Infant nursery, preschool, TK, and Kindergarten programs run year-round with care available 7:30am–5:30pm

Le Petit Elephant Nursery and Preschool utilizes Le Petit Méthode, a philosophy that centers on academic learning through play and is built on a combination of Waldorf, RIE, Montessori, and Reggio-Emilia approaches. The program operates in an English/Spanish bilingual environment and includes an Outdoor Curriculum Coordinator role to support its outdoor-based focus. Half-day schedules are available for preschool, and the program also offers after school care, weekend classes, and enriching indoor weekend programming for families. Additional features include scholarship offerings, tuition assistance on a sliding scale, expanded infant care, an expanded organic garden, new indoor and outdoor play facilities, a new auditorium with a fully equipped stage, an indoor community playroom for ages 0–5 years Monday–Friday, and affordable event rentals with rental opportunities for weekend birthday parties.

Le Petit Elephant Nursery and Preschool was founded in 2015 and has been providing a place for children in Napa to learn, grow, and thrive since 2015. It is licensed under License #283009161 and License #283009162 and describes itself as Napa’s premier outdoor-based, English/Spanish bilingual childcare center, with a new Chapel Hill campus opening in 2026 as Napa’s first Child Development Center. The program has awarded $850K in scholarships and counting and offers tuition assistance on a sliding scale for families who need it. Le Petit Elephant’s Chapel Hill campus building was originally built in 1954 as a church for the congregation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, constructed by 500 members of the church under the oversight of their Bishop, who was a licensed contractor, and Le Petit Elephant states that it is proud to act as steward of this building as it ushers in a new chapter for Napa’s children and families.

The leadership team includes Founder and Head of School Miss Milli, Center Director Miss Mackenzie, Site Supervisor Miss Adrean, Staff Coordinator and Preschool Teacher Miss Fatima, and Outdoor Curriculum Coordinator and TK Teacher Miss Cristal. Every Le Petit Elephant teacher meets or exceeds California’s childcare licensing requirements, lead preschool teachers have completed all required early childhood education coursework, lead infant teachers hold specialized training in infant development, and all educators bring prior hands-on experience working with young children in supervised programs. Miss Milli is an Ivy League–educated child development expert and child behavior specialist who earned a Master’s Degree in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Education (Teacher’s College) in New York City, a Bachelor’s Degree in Developmental Psychology with an emphasis in Developmental Neuroscience from UC San Diego, completed Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) coursework, and served as an Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Napa Valley College from 2012 to 2014. Miss Adrean received her A.A. in Social and Behavioral Sciences from De Anza College in Cupertino, holds a Child Development Certificate and a Site Supervisor permit, and has over 30 years of experience working with children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old, and she also volunteers for the Napa County Regional Park and Open Space District. Miss Fatima is enrolled at Napa Valley College and is finishing her A.S. degree in Child and Family Studies. Miss Cristal obtained her Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Napa Valley College in 2022 and her bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in Early Childhood Development with a concentration in Education in 2023 from Sonoma State University.

Le Petit Elephant reports that Milli is a Mentor for the Florecer Program through First 5 Napa, mentoring youth in Napa toward a career in early childhood education. The program notes that it has awarded $850K in scholarships and counting as part of its support for the local community. Parent reviews describe the teachers as fantastic, super attentive, organized, and genuinely caring, and mention excellent communication strategies through an easy-to-use app. Families report that their children have learned a lot, that the experience has been immersive, safe, and fun, and that they value the strong staff, community, and the amount of attention and outdoor time children receive.
