Art Therapy OC offers creative fun therapeutic art classes that include Self-care Summer art time, Creative Kids Camp and Creative Kids CAMPS, Kids Camp, Creative Playdates, Mommy & Me, and pARTy options. The program also offers private sessions, Art Sessions for individuals, groups, and families, as well as Groups, special Groups/Events, Girl Scouts activities, Creative Wellness Art Workshops, and Creative Corporate or Women’s Wellness Workshops, including personalized pARTy options. Art Therapy OC was established in 2012. The program was created by Diana “MissDee” Shabtai, Psy.D., ATR-BC, who is described as the creator of Art Therapy OC and is joined by Mr. Snickers, the art dog. Diana Shabtai completed a Fine Arts major at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, earned a BA in Business Communications with minors in Organizational Communications and Gerontology from Chapman University in Orange, obtained an MA Degree in Clinical Art Therapy from Long Island University in New York, holds ATR-BC Board Certified Art Therapist credentials, earned an MA Degree in Marriage & Family Therapy (MFT) and a Doctorate Degree (Psy.D.) in MFT from the California School of Professional Psychology in Irvine, and Art Therapy OC is described as a holistic alternative to talk therapy with a note that it does not provide psychotherapy.
Art Therapy OC is described as a special fun, cheerful, encouraging, and inspirational place to explore the enjoyable world of art, its endless creative possibilities, and unlimited therapeutic benefits for healthy better-living, and it states that it helps participants explore the world of art and find positive ways to express themselves creatively using art as a tool, outlet, and coping mechanism for healthy expression that can be used in everyday life.
