Newport Sea Base Programs

Newport Sea Base Programs offers youth activities that include kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle boarding, giant 10 person paddle boards, sailing, rowing, motorboating, fishing, oceanography, engineering, cooking, STEM, robotics, and marine science activities. Summer Camp 2026 runs June 8 through August 14 with quarter-day, half-day, or full-day sessions, and Aquatic Day Camps are offered as half-day and full-day experiences from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Youth Sailing and Rowing note that no experience is necessary.

About the provider

Newport Sea Base was established in 1937. Its mission is to provide a marine-oriented public education and recreation facility for youth and young adults for substantial public benefit in the form of enhanced knowledge, awareness, and understanding of the marine environment and aquatic recreation.

Serving youth ages 5-17 years old. One page says summer camp registration is for one week or more at a time. Youth Sailing notes: no experience necessary. Rowing notes: no experience necessary. Some classes are not offered year round.
