About

OCC Youth Sailing Summer Camps are part of the OCC Youth Learn-to-Sail and Summer Sailing Camps offerings, which also include Youth & Teen Sailing at Marina Park and Family Sailing at Marina Park. The broader program includes Youth Powerboat Training along with other Youth Learn-to-Sail activities.

• Ages: 7–15 years old
• Schedule: Options available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm, and Saturday and Sunday 9 am to 2 pm

The program is part of a public, non-profit sailing school that also offers Adult Learn-to-Sail, Keelboat Classes, Keelboat Classes at Marina Park, Powerboat Training, Offshore Cruising, Bareboat Cruising, and Cruising Courses. The school states that it is ready to help participants get on the water and learn more about boating, safety, and seamanship, and that it provides knowledge and experience for those new to sailing and puts those learning to handle small or large powerboats at the controls with an instructor. The program is connected with the OCC Foundation, the OCC Sailing Association, an Online Nautical Library, a Professional Mariner Program, and a Professional Mariner Training Center, and it also runs a Marine Gear Sale & Boat Auction and Team Building & Corporate Events.

The school lists US Sailing Certifications, US Powerboating Cruising Powerboat Certifications, a US Coast Guard License Exam Prep Course, and Standard First Aid with CPR/AED among its credentials and courses. Since Spring 2021, the OCC School of Sailing & Seamanship has partnered with the City of Newport Beach to provide additional sailing opportunities for the community at the City's Marina Park location. The program notes that youth ages 7 to 15 years old can learn from instructors in summer camps, holiday camps, or after school sailing courses.
