Southern California Children's Chorus

The Southern California Children's Chorus offers Kinder Chorus for children 5 years of age, Primary Chorus for first grade, Apprentice Chorus for grades 2 and 3, Intermediate Chorus for grades 4 through 6, Advanced Chorus for grades 6 through 10, Concert Chorus for primarily grades 7 through 12, and Boys' Ensemble for boys whose voice is changing or has changed. These groups are part of the program's choral music education and world-class performance work.

Programs

• Kinder Chorus — 5 years of age · Designed for children 5 years of age.
• Primary Chorus — First grade · Designed for children in the first grade.
• Apprentice Chorus — Grades 2 and 3 · Comprised of approximately 65 choristers from grades 2 and 3.
• Intermediate Chorus — Grades 4 through 6 · Comprised of approximately 50 choristers from grades 4 through 6.
• Advanced Chorus — Grades 6 through 10 · Comprised of approximately 50 members from grades 6 through 10.
• Concert Chorus — Primarily grades 7 through 12 · Comprised of approximately 70 choristers primarily from grades 7 through 12.
• Boys' Ensemble — Boys whose voice is changing or has changed · Comprised of approximately 25 members of boys whose voice is changing or has changed.

About the provider

The Southern California Children's Chorus was founded in 1996. Its leadership team includes Lori Loftus as Founding Director, with Tina Peterson, Jayna Jones, Dr. Ricardo Soto, Sara Littlefield Cooke, Tzipora Khodzhayev, Noelle Nielsen, and Marga Gargantiel as Co-Directors, along with April Wexelman. The program is an independent non-profit organization, is tuition-based, and provides scholarships and other forms of assistance to families in need. It is a recipient of 3 Emmy awards and has performed at Segerstrom Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Sydney Opera House, Westminster Abbey, and the White House.

SCCC is an independent non-profit organization. SCCC is tuition-based and is dedicated to making its programs available to children from all economic backgrounds.
