Instructors are 18 and older, are described as insatiable outdoors experts who love adventuring almost as much as they love working with kids, and have serious safety and skills training along with impeccable credentials. Campers can bring their own bikes or use bikes from the camp’s fleet, which accommodates campers of any size. Campers are grouped by grade, with 2nd–4th graders concentrating on getting comfortable with new activities and 5th–7th graders focusing on teamwork and deepening their technical competence. Parents and campers meet staff at a consistent location daily, and Avid4 Adventure provides transportation for campers to local recreation areas for the day’s adventure sport, along with access to top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids.

The program states that every day is a different adventure and that challenges are calibrated to campers’ age and ability. It also states that it teaches campers solid skills, including sound judgment and problem-solving, and that programs evolve as campers grow from age 3 to 17. Avid4 Adventure describes its mission as believing in the transformative power of the outdoors and says that at Avid4 Adventure kids build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. The camp is backed by the Avid4 Adventure Guarantee, which promises an authentic outdoor adventure, incredibly well-trained and professional staff, increased confidence for campers, and a customer experience that exceeds parents’ expectations, and states that if these promises are not met, the next Avid4 Adventure camp is free.

Avid4 Adventure is a Certified B Corp, is accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps. It operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service. The leadership team includes Founder David Secunda, who is a former president of the Outdoor Industry Association and a 25-year veteran of the outdoor education industry.

Parent testimonials describe this as a favorite camp where one child learned to ride a bike without training wheels and discovered new favorite activities such as stand up paddleboarding, kayaking, and biking. Other testimonials describe mature, responsible staff who are excited to share their passion with children, a well-run program where kids learn new outdoor skills, and children who talk about camp long after it ends and look forward to returning.
