Parents and campers meet staff at a consistent location daily, campers are transported to recreation areas for the day’s adventure sport, and groups return to the facility for afternoon pick up. Every day is structured to include outdoor sports along with creative activities such as yoga, art, and music, and the program uses professional-caliber equipment and top-of-the-line gear specifically sized for kids. Families are strongly encouraged to send campers with their own bike for biking day, with training wheels removed prior to camp.
The program is part of Avid4 Adventure, which offers summer day camps, overnight camps, school programs, and events, with programs that evolve from age 3 through 17 and an empowerment focus for kids from PreK–12. Avid4 Adventure states a mission that centers on the transformative power of the outdoors, where kids build confidence, make new friends, and master essential skills in activities like paddling, biking, rock climbing, and hiking. The organization operates under a Special Use authorization from the National Forest Service and is an Equal Opportunity Employer, is a Certified B Corp, is accredited by the American Camp Association, and has been named among Colorado Parent’s Top 5 Sports Camps.
Avid4 Adventure describes its instructors as expert, highly trained, and professional staff who are 18 and older, with serious safety and skills training and strong ability to connect with kids. The organization states that it does everything in its power to keep kids safe while allowing calculated, well-communicated risks, and that every activity starts with a discussion about the risks involved, how to prevent them, and how to respond if something goes wrong. It also states that it hires committed, experienced instructors, transports campers to authentic local recreation areas they can return to, and teaches campers solid skills including how to use sound judgment and problem-solving in all aspects of their lives.
