Open Minds Early School offers Spanish immersion, language immersion, music, creative projects, and homework support as part of its daily activities. The program follows a child-centered learning approach guided by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, with long-term projects that build on students’ interests. Open Minds Early School integrates the Reggio Emilia philosophy and Spanish immersion for children ages 3 months to 5 years in its Preschool program, and for children ages 5 to 8 in its After-School program. The program includes a Toddler Program for learners ages 18–36 months, a Pre-Kindergarten Program for children ages 3–5, and an After School Program for toddlers through 5th grade, catering to a range of developmental stages from toddlers to elementary ages. It offers second language immersion where Spanish is a medium of exploration and discovery, with a child-centered collaborative learning ethos and a thoughtfully designed, responsive curriculum tailored to individual needs.
The educators at Open Minds Early School utilize the latest pedagogical strategies, bring diverse global perspectives, and regularly upskill with provided training. The team includes expert, diverse educators from over six Spanish-speaking countries. The leadership team includes Karen Hernandez, founder and Academic Director, and Jesus Bolivar, founder of Open Minds Early School, whose family founded I.E. Juan XXIII, an International Baccalaureate K–12 school, in 1964.
