About

ANTS Sports offers activities that include tennis, yoga, martial arts, flag football, basketball, and soccer. The program includes an all-sports camp for K–5th with play-based learning, positive coaching, and social connection, as well as after school enrichment classes and neighborhood classes with coaches, equipment, and a weekly class for a “kids club.” Programs include tennis, soccer, yoga, basketball, martial arts, flag football, and more, and welcome new and experienced players of all skill levels, including children who have never touched a racket.

• Ages: 5–11 years old
• Schedule: Half-day camp options every week from 9:30am–12:30pm during the 2025 camp weeks of June 9–13, June 16–20, June 23–27, July 7–11, July 14–18, July 21–25, July 28–August 1, and August 4–8
• Price: $475/week

The daily camp schedule runs from 9:30am–12:30pm and includes camper drop-off from 9:30–9:35am, a welcome period with the day’s special theme, icebreakers, and a team game from 9:35–9:55am, tennis skills practice from 9:55–10:35am, game time from 10:35–10:55am, a break and snack time from 10:55–11:10am, more skill development through drills and partner activities from 11:10–11:50am, tennis team games including match play from 11:50am–12:20pm, and a cool down, sportsmanship chat, and review of the day’s highlights from 12:20–12:30pm. The program uses modified equipment adopted by the USTA, including smaller nets and rackets and easier-to-hit balls, and follows an age-appropriate curriculum where equipment and curriculum match children’s size and abilities. There is no fee to switch camp weeks as long as space allows.

Coaches in the program are trained in early childhood development. ANTS Sports states that its mission is to develop “America’s Next Talented Stars” through K–5th youth sports classes that teach the fundamentals of sports in a fun team environment that facilitates growth, exploration, and healthy habit development, and it states that it wants children to love sports for a lifetime. The organization partners with dozens of elementary schools in the Bay Area and offers after school enrichment classes at these schools.

One parent from San Francisco shared that their kindergarten-age daughter had a week at ANTS Sports where coaches made a variety of sports fun and accessible for a six-year-old, and that the week balanced skill-building and fun. Another San Francisco parent of a 1st grader reported that the sign-up process was smooth, communication before and during camp was thorough, and that campers had fun and were exposed to new games every day. A 3rd grade parent in San Francisco described ANTS Yoga classes with Lorna as fostering a love of yoga and fitness and noted that their daughter looks forward to class every week. A 1st grade parent in Oakland reported that their daughter progressed over six months from not being able to hit a ball to rallying and having fun, and that Coach Will was inclusive for all skill levels and that their daughter now identifies as a tennis player and wants to continue playing.
