• Ages: 5–18 years old
The mission of Double Scissors Soccer is to provide detailed, thoughtful, and fun soccer training for any athlete looking to improve their game. The program’s personalized approach to coaching includes mentorship and connection with each player, with a welcoming atmosphere, positive energy, constructive reinforcement, and one-to-one relationships. Trainings are for players serious about getting better, open to learning, and ready to embrace challenges, with soccer training that emphasizes creativity, self-expression, and the joy of movement. Mentorship is described as a holistic, relationship-driven process that supports the athlete as both a player and a person. The Double Scissors Philosophy & Principles of Play include scanning for space and awareness off the ball; looking to go forward and be a threat offensively no matter what position a player has; soccer IQ, intelligence, and composure with the ball; vision, anticipation, timing of runs and movement; and technical ability with both feet. Training also addresses mental strength and perseverance and leadership.
Double Scissors Soccer Training serves Bay Area communities. Current schools serviced by the ASEP Soccer (After School Enrichment Program) include Del Rey Elementary, Glorietta Elementary, Sleepy Hollow Elementary, Wagner Ranch Elementary, Camino Pablo Elementary, Los Perales Elementary, and Rheem Elementary. Camps run in the city of Orinda, CA, and the Campolindo Boys Soccer Program is located in Moraga, CA. Soccer Days offers camps and clinics for girls and boys ages 5–12 years old at beginner and intermediate skill levels in Orinda, CA.
The leadership team includes Coach Stefan Clemens, who runs the Campolindo Boys Soccer Program and is the head coach for the boys varsity squad, and Coach Amir, who is the Campo boys varsity assistant. Since the onset of the pandemic in 2020, players can benefit from healthy relationships and guidance from the experienced coaching staff. Families can book a free call with Coach Stefan for mentorship.
Parent testimonials describe Stefan as developing a player’s health and skills as well as self-confidence, and as a mentor, confidant, and example who instills values of sportsmanship and character, according to Trish Emerson, a Bentley High School parent. Another parent, Michelle Williamson from Lamorinda Soccer Club, describes Stefan as an excellent coach and instructor who keeps her daughters engaged through a wide range of core, technical, and shooting drills, and notes his personal charism and true interest in player development.
