The Kumon Math and Reading Program uses daily worksheet practice in math and reading, including math worksheets, reading worksheets, and “look, listen and repeat” worksheets. Math work can include counting, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions, graphs, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, probability and statistics, writing numbers, and mental calculations. Reading work can include pre-reading skills, vocabulary, grammar and punctuation, sentence building, reading comprehension skills, pencil holding exercises, identifying nouns, verbs and adjectives, and using nouns, verbs and adjectives within sentences.

The Kumon Math Program covers counting, addition and subtraction, multiplication and division, fractions, graphs, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and probability and statistics. The Kumon Reading Program covers pre-reading skills, vocabulary, grammar and punctuation, sentence building, and reading comprehension skills. Instruction is practiced daily at home or in the center, and students can progress at their own pace in just 30 minutes per day, per subject. Kumon offers individualized instruction, and the Instructor prepares an individualized lesson plan and supports students as they progress. The Kumon Method starts by filling in learning gaps, empowers students to learn independently, and has students conquer one skill before moving on to the next, using Kumon Worksheets that are used around the world and are all based on the same approach. Kumon is a structured, proven self-learning program, and Kumon Students improve study skills, reduce homework anxiety and master math and reading concepts, with students often studying two or even three years above grade level.
The program is also available in a digital format via Kumon Connect for use on a tablet and stylus. Kumon Connect is a convenient digital platform that lets students complete their math, reading and English worksheets using a tablet and stylus, with daily grading and real-time progress tracking. Parents can view their child's progress history anytime using Kumon Connect, which eliminates paper clutter and comes with no additional fees. Kumon Connect requires a tablet and stylus for students to complete their worksheets.
A no-cost assessment helps the instructor determine an appropriate starting point in the program. Through the Kumon Method, the program aims to foster sound, capable individuals who can succeed in achieving their goals in life, and Kumon has a dream of world peace brought about by education.
