Knowledge Breaking Crew is a youth breaking program where kids practice breakdancing and breaking, including moves such as head spins, windmills, turtle walks, and flares. Participants train in classes that include a Beginner level class with simple foundational moves and the 4 Elements of Breaking along with combos, Level 2 and Level 3 invite-only classes, and a Guided Session for specific moves or skills. The program also includes performing on stage, participating in battles, and taking part in 2026 Summer Intensive camps and Summer Camps.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: Weeklong 2026 Summer Intensive camps and 14-week Summer Sessions with class options on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
• Price: $25 Per Class; $350 – 14 Week Session (1 class a week); $700 – 14 Week Session (2 classes a week).
The Beginner level class teaches simple foundational moves and the 4 Elements of Breaking along with combos. The Guided Session focuses on the individual who wants to learn a specific move or skill. Level 2, which is invite only, focuses on the stylized elements of Breaking such as Toprock and Footwork and also on more dynamic elements such as Power Moves and Freezes. Level 3, which is also invite only, focuses on the more dynamic elements of Breaking, including Power Moves and Freezes. Both coaches offer private lessons, and prices for private lessons vary per coach. Consistent class attendance is highly recommended because the curriculum builds on itself weekly.
The program’s mission is “To educate about the culture of hip hop and the disciplines embedded in the movement” and “Know-The-Ledge (Knowledge) is a youth breaking program designed for kids that love breakdancing. This program will help the kids develop and grow, not only as dancers, but as young individuals following the disciplines that breakdancing has to offer. Knowledge will advance their breaking skills and create an environment for the kids to form a friendly/competitive relationship with each other. They will also gain necessary experience by performing on stage and participating in battles.” The Crew is a group of students that represent Knowledge Breaking Crew at the highest level and participate in local battles and community performances. In addition to growing their skills weekly, The Crew participates in local battles and community performances. Knowledge Breaking Crew is available as a homeschool vendor for Mission Vista Academy, South Sutter Charter School, Ocean Grove Charter School, and Sky Mountain Charter School.
Coach Jay started dancing in 2008, was inspired to dance by watching Jabbawockeez and Super Crew, learned breaking on his own and entered local jams, and expanded his dance knowledge by joining teams such as Rivals School, PAC and KABA Modern, The Corps Dance Crew, and Culture Shock LA. Coach Bear started dancing in 2010, his first crews in high school were the RawRockers and Foolish Kingz, he later joined CSUF’s Titan Break Club, and he currently represents Phantom Troupe and Knowledge Breaking Crew. The leadership team for Knowledge Breaking Crew consists of Coach Jay and Coach Bear.
