No Limits Creative Arts offers classes in dance, music, art, yoga, voice, tumbling, musical theater, and cheer. The program includes activities that allow students to participate in multiple creative arts areas within the same organization.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
No Limits Creative Arts is led by Carla Hutchison, who has over 20 years of experience teaching dance to kids of all ages. The mission of the program is to make the creative arts accessible to all classes in the Orange County and surrounding areas. It is an inclusive program providing dance, music, art, yoga, voice, tumbling, musical theater, and cheer to individuals with disabilities, and it was developed to offer a place where children with disabilities could dance as well. The program prioritizes building confidence and friendships through the arts, involves the greater community, and invites support from peer mentors, and every student will have the chance to perform.
CSUF's Center for Autism partnered with No Limits Creative Arts to design an effective and inclusive program, providing peer training and evidence-based instructional support, and offering faculty and students the opportunity to work collaboratively in a community-based high-impact practice.
One parent shared that their child Emily has participated in dance, yoga, and voice at No Limits Creative Arts since 2016 and that their family has formed friendships through the program. Another parent described how their child Elise started dancing with No Limits at age 5 and, at age 12, continues to enjoy positive and uplifting class and performance experiences with teacher Ms. Carla and program mentors. A third parent explained that their child Ava has taken cheer classes with No Limits since 2016, has continued with the program for eight years, and has also gone on to participate in school plays, choir, and Color Guard, while both parent and child have created and sustained friendships with other students and parents in the program.
