Once Upon a Mattress: Youth Edition offers children the opportunity to engage in performing arts and imagination play. The program is held at the Presidio Theatre, providing a platform for young participants to explore their creativity through live musical theatre.

School Shows: All school shows start at 10:30am Thursdays Fridays Jan 22, Jan 29, Feb 5 Jan 23, Jan 30, Feb 6 Feb 12, Feb 19, Feb 26. Feb 13, Feb 20, Feb 27 Mar 5 Mar 6.

Founded in 1934, the program is an all-volunteer, non-profit women's organization dedicated to providing live musical theatre for school children in the San Francisco Bay Area, particularly for those who might not otherwise experience it. It has received the Bay Area Theatre Critics Circle Award in 1998 and partners with the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco to support cultural programs for schools. Performances are offered at no cost to students and their teachers, with public ticket sales subsidizing the cost of the school program.
