Frog Creek Adventure School is an outdoor education program where children spend time in unstructured exploration and play, storytelling, and other enriching activities. Participants take part in water coloring, playing games, hiking, plant identification, watching the hawks fly around, camping, and exploring the outdoors.

Frog Creek Adventure School describes itself as an outdoor education organization dedicated to fostering a deep and lasting connection with nature, where children and families develop first-hand experiences with nature and explore the interconnection between living beings and the natural world. The program states that it hopes to cultivate a concern for the natural world and create a community of lifelong environmental stewards. Adults in the program act as mentors who guide exploration of the natural world, and limits are set using Nonviolent Communication and unconditional positive regard for the child. Children in the program are described as deeply respected and trusted members of the community, seen as capable and competent, free to take risks, move, and play, and unconditionally accepted. The program emphasizes nature-based education and child-led learning, and includes a special education consultant with experience supporting children with diverse developmental needs, including those with cochlear implants and families navigating Autism through relationship-based therapeutic interventions.
The leadership team includes Aimee O. as Executive Director, Susana Q. as Special Education Consultant, and Shauna S. as Mentor. Aimee studied child development and alternative education philosophies at Santa Monica Community College and The Evergreen State College and has been a lead mentor since 2018. Susana has a bachelor’s degree in Educational Psychology from the Autonomous University of Querétaro in Querétaro, México, has training in relationship-based intervention for autistic kids and speech and hearing therapy, and is trained in Nonviolent Communication. Susana spent five years as a parent in the program and four years as a mentor. Aimee grew up in the local homeschool and unschooling community and is a Manhattan Beach Nursery School alum, and before joining the mentorship team, Susana participated in the program as a parent.
