Launch Dance Center Youth Dance Classes and Camps

Launch Dance Center Youth Dance Classes and Camps offers dance camps, intensives, and classes that include Disney Mania Dance Camp, K-Pop Demon Hunters Dance Camp, and the Launch Performance Project. Dancers can train in ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz, character, tap, modern, hip hop, acro, lyrical, stretch and strength, jumps and turns, choreography, acting and performance, dancing for the camera, improv, stagecraft, and costume and set design. The program also offers a 3 Day Acro & Cirque Intensive, a 3 Day Ballet Intensive, and a Professional Development Intensive.

• Schedule: Summer day camps run 9:00AM–3:30PM, with 5-day camps and 3-day intensives offered on specific July and August dates
• Price: Camps generally range from $220–$600 per session, depending on program type and registration date

Disney Mania Dance Camp runs July 13–17 as a 5-day camp from 9:00AM–3:30PM for ages 3–5 and 6–8, with a fee of $530 before April 10 and $580 after April 10. K-Pop Demon Hunters Dance Camp runs August 10–14 as a 5-day camp from 9:00AM–3:30PM for ages 3–5 and 6–8, also priced at $530 before April 10 and $580 after April 10. A half-day option and pricing are available upon request for summer camps.

The 3 Day Acro & Cirque Intensive runs July 28–30 from 9:00AM–1:00PM for ages 7–12 and 13+, and the 3 Day Ballet Intensive runs July 7–9 from 9:00AM–1:00PM for ages 7–12 and 13+, with specialized intensives priced at $220 before April 10 and $240 after April 10. The Professional Development Intensive runs Week 1 July 20–24 and Week 2 August 3–7 from 9:00AM–3:00PM, at $550 before April 10 and $600 after April 10 for each week, and is mandatory for Performance Co and Company dancers. The Launch Performance Project runs June 29–July 3 from 9:00AM–3:00PM, costs $530 before April 10 and $580 after April 10, and ends with a final showcase for family and friends.

Launch Dance Center offers dance classes for ages 3–18 and private classes for adults, with programs including LAUNCH PAD (ages 3–6), a Recreational Program (ages 7+), Technique-Only Classes (ages 10+), Production Track (ages 10+), Performance Co Teams (ages 7+), ALL STARS Competitive Line (ages 7+), and ALL STARS Contemporary & Hip Hop (ages 7+). All students over the age of 4 take part in at least one performance each year, and students can participate in annual performances of The Nutcracker, a Winter Showcase, and a Spring Production, as well as dance competitions and community performances outside the studio. The National Dance Honors Society plans a variety of team-building activities.

Launch Dance Center provides training in the Royal Academy of Dance program and offers two tracks of examinations each year. The mission of Launch Dance Center is to empower dancers to reach their fullest potential in the studio and in life, guided by core pillars of technique, strength, and mental well-being, and to develop strong, skilled performers who are confident, resilient, and compassionate individuals who shine on stage and thrive beyond it. The founder and director, Laura Wahl, created Launch Dance Center and holds a bachelor’s degree in dance from The American Musical And Dramatic Academy and an Arts & Entertainment Management diploma from Capalano University.

Launch Dance Center notes that dancers participate in community volunteer activities and that the program serves families in multiple South Bay cities, including Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Torrance, Lawndale, El Segundo, Hawthorne, Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills, Rancho Palos Verdes, Lomita, San Pedro, Inglewood, and Carson. Launch Dance Center supports Independent PE students. The studio also offers an adult program in partnership with Lyric Dance Pro, with classes in tap, ballet, contemporary, hip hop, jazz, and a Performance Team.
