The Music Box offers private lessons in piano, voice, guitar, strings, brass, winds, conducting, banjo, ukulele, bass (electric and acoustic), violin, viola, cello, and drums/percussion. Students can also take part in arranging, composition, electronic music and production, production, and composition and arranging. The program includes group and solo music theory preparation for AP, CM, RCM, and ABRSM, as well as classical chamber music ensembles, jazz combos, bands, ensembles, and choir and vocal groups. The Music Box also provides instrument rentals and sales, accessories, and repair and cleaning services for individuals and organizations such as schools, extracurricular programs, and orchestras.

Instructors at The Music Box have years of experience with numerous accomplishments in their craft, and many have degrees, awards, and other notable credits they and their students have earned. The program serves the South Bay local beach communities as well as the greater Los Angeles and Orange Counties. The Music Box describes its instructors as some of the finest musicians and instructors in the South Bay and greater Los Angeles area, with expertise and experience to bring out results from music performance and study, and notes that staff collaborate to find the ideal instructor, coach, program, and ensemble to fit a student's needs, goals, and interests. The program offers individual lesson plans, workshops, ensembles and bands, regular recitals, performances and gigs, and training that includes a foundation in theory and musicianship across many styles and approaches, including traditional classical and modern, conservative and progressive. The Music Box also offers rental plans with quarterly and semi-annual commitments and additional monthly options, Buy Back Credit plans when upgrading instruments purchased through them, a 6-month rental credit that can be applied to the purchase of the same instrument on approved instruments and plans, and special orders. They carry accessories such as reeds, metronomes, tuners, strings, picks and more, provide repair and cleaning services, and offer referrals to specialized services.
