About
PGC Basketball Camps offers the Playmaker College Day Basketball Camp, where players take part in classroom sessions, film sessions, and gym sessions. Each habit or skill is taught in the classroom first, then on film, and then on the court. The camp includes a Final Ultimate Challenge after 30 hours of learning.
• Ages: 9–18 years old
• Schedule: 5-day camps, including options with over 40 hours of training and day camps from 9am–4pm
Over 34 years, PGC Basketball Camps has offered game-changing basketball camps for boys and girls and now offers over 200 camps across North America in the summer and fall. The program states that players develop basketball IQ, mindset, leadership, playmaking, and confidence at the same time, and describes PGC as a “leadership laboratory” for every age and stage. PGC offers 5-day, 4-night camps that include meals and accommodations, as well as day camps from 9am–4pm, and has introduced a PGC 3-Camp Pass where families can get 3 camps for the price of 2. The mission of PGC Basketball Camps is “To Inspire and Equip Every Player & Coach Everywhere.”
PGC Basketball Camps notes that there are no talent shows or swim breaks, no celebrity autograph sessions, and that they do not roll out the balls and “just play.” Over the past decade, PGC has provided more than $2.5 million in financial assistance to players and has contributed to initiatives locally and globally.
Parent and coach testimonials describe their experiences with PGC Basketball Camps. Jeremy Brown, a parent of a PGC grad, shared that he and his 12-year-old son “got a year’s worth of knowledge in one week—not just lessons in basketball, but in life.” Leagh Turner, Former Global Chief Operating Officer at SAP, described Playmaker College as “a leadership experience in the cloak of a basketball camp” and registered for a Summer Lifetime Pass for both of her boys. Jeremy Lin, a 9-year NBA veteran, stated, “The thing I love about Point Guard College is they teach players to think the game.” Billy Lange, an NBA assistant coach with the New York Knicks, said he was “blown away by the level of teaching” his son received. Coach John Wooden stated, “Point Guard College will greatly improve the play of any aspiring player,” and Greg Brittenham, former New York Knicks assistant coach, said, “If you can attend only one basketball camp this summer, make it Point Guard College. If you can attend five basketball camps this summer, make them all Point Guard College.”
