About

Rocklin Academy of Dance offers dance classes and Acrobatic Arts classes. The program includes ballet instruction that uses the Cecchetti Method starting as early as age 6. It now offers Acrobatic Arts classes for dancers at the primary level through level 6.

Rocklin Academy of Dance states that its mission is to provide a high quality dance education in a safe and family friendly environment, to foster a love for dance at all levels from beginner through advanced, and to offer classes that will both challenge and build character among its students. The program notes a goal to offer and implement a dance curriculum whereby each student can excel. Summer class registration is open.

The Director and Owner is Stacie Fisher, the Creative Director is Kristen Gauthier, and the Marketing Director and Competition/Recreational Instructor is Lauren Ellison. Instructors come with years of experience in the industry, and many have credentials in teaching and college degrees in education. Ballet teachers carry out the Cecchetti Method, and faculty includes board members of Cecchetti USA and the Sacramento Area Dance Alliance. Faculty also includes a former Sacramento Kings Dancer and captain.

Stacie Fisher earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology with a Minor in Dance from The University at Buffalo and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from the University of Central Florida. Kristen Gauthier received her Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Sacramento in Deaf Studies with a Minor in Dance in 2015, and her Master’s in Special Education with a specialization in Deaf and Hard of Hearing in 2021, and as a choreographer she has won overalls, choreography awards, and national championships for her dancers. Lauren Ellison has extensively studied and trained in jazz, tap, ballet, and contemporary/modern dance, and graduated in 2013 from San Francisco State University with a B.A. in Liberal Studies–Elementary Education and a Minor in Dance. Carrie Pereira graduated from California State University, Sacramento with a degree in Dance Commercial Training and a Vocational Credential in Dance, was a Sacramento Kings Dancer from 1987 to 1997 and captain for 9 years, taught for United Spirit Association for 13 years, taught dance at CSU Sacramento for 8 years and American River College for 8 years, and owned and operated a dance studio for 15 years.

Norine Brown attained diplomas in Modern, National, RAD Ballet, Imperial Ballet, Anatomy, and Ballroom at the Hammond School of Dancing in Chester, England, resides on the Board of Cecchetti USA and is an active West Coast Committee member, and has been an active Board Member of the Sacramento Area Dance Alliance for the past 20 years and is currently acting as Corresponding Secretary. Liberty Cormier specializes in Hip Hop and works for the Starstruck Showcase program, where she teaches elementary school students to dance. Daniela has specialized training in ballet throughout the Sacramento area and trained on pointe at RAD. Chloe has trained in all styles and has specialized in tap in recent years, training at different studios throughout the Sacramento area.

The Sacramento Area Dance Alliance is described as a nonprofit company that offers workshops and scholarships to local dance students. The Rocklin Academy of Dance website lists a copyright date of 2018.
