About
Rancho Cielo Youth Programs offers vocational training and high school education where students can earn a high school diploma or the equivalent. The program includes hands-on learning in areas such as electro-mechanical fundamentals and technologies in modern agricultural production, automotive safety, servicing and maintenance of gas and diesel engine vehicles, basic construction skills from operating power tools to reading construction plans, mastery in a variety of welding methods, and a comprehensive culinary arts curriculum where students work with hospitality and culinary industry professionals. Students also take part in cultural enrichment, physical and outdoor activities, science education, outdoor recreation, enrichment activities, individual and group counseling, life skills development, mental health support, on-the-job training, and a crew-based job readiness program focused on work readiness.

Rancho Cielo Youth Programs offers diploma education, vocational training, counseling, and life-skills development in a safe and affirming environment, and students can earn a WASC-accredited high school diploma or equivalent. Services are offered through seven programs: Ag Technology & Mechatronics, Auto & Diesel Repair, Classic Car Restoration, Construction & Sustainable Design Academy, Welding & Fabrication, Drummond Culinary Academy, Silver Star Program, and Youth Corps, with Youth Corps operating as a crew-based job readiness program where students earn as they learn. Dining at Rancho Cielo features fresh, seasonal dishes prepared by student trainees at Drummond Culinary Academy, with the dining room open Friday nights during the school year. Students can leave prepared to enter the workforce and/or enroll in post-secondary education. Rancho Cielo was established as a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in 2000 and is led by CEO Chris Devers, founder John Phillips, and the Rancho Cielo Board of Directors.
Rancho Cielo collaborates with John Muir Charter Schools to offer vocational training and high school education and works with many public and private organizations from the Salinas Valley and across Monterey County that provide academic instruction, healthcare, mental health services, juvenile justice, enrichment opportunities, on-the-job training, and work readiness. It partners with community members, donors, sponsors, and volunteers, including advisory councils and an annual volunteer network of more than 400 people, and its mission includes curbing gang violence in Monterey County through education and vocational training. The Rancho Cielo campus has become a training facility of choice in Monterey County, and the Drummond Culinary Academy dining room is open Friday nights during the school year.
