About

Shoreline Preschool offers preschool and Pre-K classes that meet in the morning and dismiss at noon so children can have lunch with their families at home. The program uses a curriculum that balances academic learning with play-based processes and includes a Bible-based, Christian emphasis. Shoreline Preschool provides a healthy snack that is included in the price of tuition, and all children attending must be fully potty trained, meaning they are out of pull-ups and able to wipe and dress themselves.

• Ages: 3–5 years old
• Schedule: Morning preschool and Pre-K classes from 9:00 AM–12:00 PM with part-time and five-day options during the school year from September through May, roughly following local public school calendars
• Price: Price information not provided

All teachers and aides at Shoreline Preschool meet the requirements for staff of a California licensed preschool, including classes in Early Childhood Education and training in recognizing child abuse, germ and pest management, health safety and nutrition, and CPR and First Aid. Class sizes and student-to-teacher ratios are kept lower than what state licensing requires. The preschool staff is encouraged to continue their education through additional classes and workshops. Shoreline Preschool’s Pre-K program has been developed in collaboration with TK and Kindergarten teachers and is described as very similar to the public school TK program, with stated benefits that include smaller class sizes and student/teacher ratios, flexibility to choose a part-time program, and a Bible-based curriculum. The Toro Park Campus is led by Site Director Julia Itzenhauser, and the Monterey Campus is led by Director Krista Chawinga. Virtual tours are available for both campuses.
