About
CPA Youth Football Development offers football specific skill training, football development, skill camps, QB mindfulness camps, private training, padded camps, and skill sessions. The program also includes flag football and a girls flag football league as part of its football activities.
CPA Youth Football Development is part of Championship Performance Athletics (CPA), a human performance training company that specializes in sport specific skill development and enhancement using innovative, purposeful, and evolving training models. The CPA Youth Football Development Division states that it strives to “bridge the football gap” with youth by creating a pathway to elite coaching. CPA describes itself as an athlete first company, and its sessions are teaching based and process driven, rooted in five concepts: Positive Psychology, Motivation, Competition, Achievement, and Empowerment. CPA states that it is committed to providing what it describes as the most comprehensive football experience available and that, through CPA, founder Mike Clark shares his passion for football and his commitment to connecting youth to elite football training activities.
Founded in 2020, the program’s leadership team includes Mike Clark – Founder/QB Instructor, Zac Schuller – WR/DB Coach, and Myles Holmes – DB Coach. Mike has eighteen years of coaching experience at the NFL, collegiate, and high school levels, was a scholarship quarterback at Arkansas State University, and began his coaching career at the University of Texas, where he was a member of the coaching staff that won the 2005 National Championship. He is currently the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco, holds a degree in exercise science from Arkansas State University, and a master’s in education from the University of Texas, has coached in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders and Arizona Cardinals, and was mentored under QB developer Tom Martinez. Zac Schuller played wide receiver at the University of Oregon, competed in bowl games while at Oregon, has five years of coaching experience, and coaches wide receivers and defensive backs at St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco. Myles Holmes played cornerback at Rhode Island, has five years of coaching experience, and coaches the defensive backs at St. Ignatius College Prep in San Francisco.
Parent and coach feedback about CPA Youth Football Development includes comments that the style of each session and emphasis on development separate the CPA football camps, and that a camper “has been having so much fun” and has become “a better football player” and “an improved athlete.” Other testimonials state that camp sessions have helped kids learn a lot, that a camper “would love to come back,” and that one participant improved center mechanics at past camps. Additional comments describe the program as a “great resource and camp,” note that campers have enjoyed it and are learning football, and express appreciation that the organization prioritized children and kept them engaged in sports with peers. One testimonial credits a CPA padded camp with influencing a child’s decision to play tackle football.
