ViBO Music School

ViBO Music School offers private and semi-private music lessons in instruments such as piano, drums, hand percussion, trumpet, guitar, ukulele, bass, trombone, violin, viola, cello, flute, and clarinet, as well as voice and music theory lessons. The program also runs group options including Guitar, Piano, Violin, and Ukulele Workshops for Beginners, an Early Childhood Music Class, ViBO Rock Bands, and the ViBO Chamber Orchestra. Students can take part in student recitals, Students Showcase Recital, an Achievement Recital, Music Camp Allegro, open-mics, jam sessions, an annual youth Battle of the Bands, and special events performances at local events, talent shows, senior centers, and street fairs.

ViBO Music School was founded in 2003. ViBO’s team of well-qualified and enthusiastic music educators lead the lessons, workshops, ensembles, and bands. The program states that “ViBO Music makes learning music exciting!” and that it believes “music creates community and communities create music.”

ViBO students perform at local events, festivals, and senior centers, and more experienced students are invited to perform at talent shows and street fairs. ViBO regularly hosts open-mics and jam sessions that bring in local musicians, and it has hosted an annual youth Battle of the Bands since 2017. ViBO Rock Bands are grouped by ages, skill levels, and interests, and ViBO Chamber Orchestra features strings, winds, keyboard, and percussion with a focus on chamber skills and a small group size around 10 members, with a casual audition required before joining.

For Guitar and Violin Workshops for Beginners, instrument rentals are available with a refundable full deposit and a monthly rental fee, and families are asked to notify the school when signing up if a rental is needed. One parent, Joan G., reports that her son has attended ViBO Music School for almost eight years, describes the curriculum as well rounded across classical and other types of music, and notes that he now picks up violin and saxophone on his own.
