About

San Carlos Parks and Recreation Youth Camps include options such as Wee Woods Adventure Camp, Burton Camp, Arguello Camp, Extreme Adventure Camp, and the San Carlos Sports Jam multi-sport camp. Campers can take part in creative arts, crafts, performing arts, cooking, science, language, engineering, dodgeball, gymnastics, golf, softball, volleyball, baseball, flag football, team-building games, outdoor activities, and water games. Camp Lunch Hour Care is available between morning and afternoon Club Ed and Sports Summer Camps, and a LITE (Leader in Training Education) program is offered for older participants.

• Ages: 4–17 years old
• Schedule: Camp Lunch Hour Care operates from 12:00 p.m.–1:00 p.m. and is offered to bridge morning and afternoon Club Ed and Sports Summer Camps
• Price: All summer camps have the option of a payment plan with 50% due at the time of registration and the remaining 50% due in two split payments, and camps must be paid in full prior to the start date

Wee Woods Adventure Camp (ages 4–5) includes activities planned around themes and a special event each Thursday. Burton Camp (ages 6–9) includes planned daily adventures and an age-appropriate off-site field trip each Thursday. Arguello Camp (ages 10–12) includes team-building games, crafts, outdoor activities, water games, and a field trip each Thursday. Extreme Adventure Camp (ages 13–17) features three different field trips across the Bay Area. San Carlos Parks and Recreation hosts in-house sports camps including softball, volleyball, baseball, and the San Carlos Sports Jam multi-sport camp, and flag football camp is hosted throughout all 9 weeks of summer camp.

Camp Lunch Hour Care includes staff picking up campers from their morning camp, supervising them during lunch, and dropping them off at their afternoon camp. Participants in Lunch Hour Care must be enrolled in at least one San Carlos Parks and Recreation Club Ed or Sports camp located at the same site as the Lunch Hour Care program, and transportation between parks is not provided, with families responsible for transporting campers if their morning or afternoon camp is at a different location. Children are expected to bring a backpack or bag with a lunch, snack, water bottle, and sunscreen, and campers will spend much of the day active and outside, so layered play clothes and close-toed shoes are recommended, and toys are to be left at home.

The LITE (Leader in Training Education) program gives middle school and high school students a way to give back to the community and perform community service, and it provides one-on-one mentorship by trained summer camp staff with a focus on building leadership skills. A Recreation Fee Assistance Program, funded in partnership with the Parks and Recreation Foundation of San Carlos, is available to help San Carlos residents and students enrolled in a San Carlos-based school participate in summer camps and classes. Summer camps offer a payment plan option with automatic withdrawals using a credit card, and 2026 Summer Camp registration opens Tuesday, February 3 for residents and Tuesday, February 10 for non-residents. Automatic waitlists email participants when a spot becomes available, and offers expire after 72 hours.
