Jump Start Youth Program and Camps focuses on volleyball skills such as movement training, ball control drills, passing, setting, attacking, overhand serving, serving, hitting, blocking, and digging. The Jump Start program is for beginning players who have little or no experience and would like to learn the fundamentals. Proper technique, high quality repetitions, and a fun-time are stated as the keystones of this program.

• Ages: 7–12 years old
• Schedule: Each Jump Start session consists of five one-hour clinics on Monday afternoons, with 9 sessions offered throughout each calendar year and 4 or 5 practices per session depending on holidays.
• Price: Session Fee: $100 (includes a t-shirt) for 4 practice sessions; $125 (includes a t-shirt) for 5 practice sessions.

The Jump Start program is part of San Diego/Seaside Volleyball Club, which offers Jump Start Holiday Camps and Jump Start Summer Camps with options for all ages and skill levels. Under the guidance of Directors Dave Whittaker, Ashley Payne, Russ and Kim Bird, the coaching staff uses the latest instructional techniques in individual and team play. The club’s mission is “Learning Life Through Volleyball,” including building confident young people, helping athletes excel at and develop a life-long love of the sport, and teaching athletes to have a strong sense of respect for themselves and others.
