San Diego Soccer Club is a non-profit youth soccer organization that operates both recreational and competitive leagues and is home to more than 1000 competitive players and more than 2500 recreational and TOPSoccer players. The club is the consolidation of the Penasquitos Youth Soccer Association and F.C. San Diego, and in September 2010 it was created from these two organizations. Its recreational soccer programs have been an integral part of the Rancho Penasquitos and Rancho Bernardo communities for 30 years. In February 2021, San Diego Soccer Club entered a partnership with Surf Cup Sports for its competitive program, known as SDSC Surf, and the SDSC Surf competitive soccer program offers teams in every age group from U8 through U19. Each age group has several teams, and equal development opportunities are provided to every player on every team regardless of entitlement level.
The SDSC Surf program has grown to be the premier club of North San Diego fielding many Premier level teams in both the Girls and Boys programs, and SDSC has fielded many very successful teams winning many State Cup Championships and repeat National Cup Finalists. Many players in the program have entered college soccer programs and earned athletic scholarships. Competitive coaching focuses on skill development in the early years and tactical abilities in the later years. The SDSC Surf competitive soccer program teams are coached by a highly qualified international coaching staff, and the coaches in the recreational soccer programs are parent volunteers who are trained by the San Diego Soccer Club professional coaching staff. San Diego Soccer Club is operated by a team of volunteers and professional coaches, and board meetings are open to all members and are held on the first Tuesday of each month.
San Diego Soccer Club’s first goal is to provide the best possible soccer development and growth opportunity for every player with the needs of the players being the primary consideration in all policies and decisions. The club seeks to be a contributor to the community by organizing charity drives and fundraisers supporting needy players, local Parks and Rec Departments, and local schools. San Diego Soccer Club operates in compliance with all regulators including Presidio, Cal South, USYSA, and all government agencies. SDSC Office Hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 10am to 5pm, and families are directed to contact Jim Flowers with any questions.
