Eidson Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Kids Program

Eidson Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Kids & Teens Program offers instruction in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, martial arts, and self defense. The program takes place at Eidson Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, also referred to as EIDSON BJJ Academy. Training includes leverage-based techniques that do not rely on strength or size and focuses on practical applications relevant to everyday life, including techniques that work against resisting opponents and progressive skill development through rolling and safe sparring at full intensity daily.

• Schedule: Office hours Monday–Friday 9:00am–9:00pm; Saturday 8:00am–1:30pm; Sunday closed

Instructor Andrew Eidson started practicing Judo in 1992 and trained under 6th-degree black belt Paulo Fernando Agusto. After earning his black belt in both Judo and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and testing in São Paulo, Brazil, he now holds a 3rd-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He spent years as Paulo’s assistant instructor at one of San Diego County’s largest academies before opening his own school. The program’s mission centers on a family-friendly environment where Brazilian Jiu Jitsu becomes a vehicle for personal growth and community connection, with training programs that support competitors, fighters, and families seeking positive change by focusing on the journey rather than just the destination. The academy describes a non-ego, process-oriented philosophy in a supportive, non-intimidating atmosphere, with a community that extends beyond class time. The kids and teen classes are described as transformative programs that build character and go beyond physical techniques to instill values like respect, perseverance, and teamwork.
