Rancho Penasquitos Basketball offers recreational youth basketball for kids and teens. The program organizes players into teams that play in divisions based on grade level, including grades 3–12. It also includes a Ski Weekend during the second half of the week in February, scheduled for the weekend at the end of the break, which in most cases is a bye week before playoffs. Registration for the 2025–2026 Winter Season is open from Sept. 1–Dec. 1, 2025.

Rancho Penasquitos Basketball states that its objective is to provide and promote a wholesome recreational basketball program for the youth of its community, to encourage and foster positive sportsmanship, cultivate good playing skills, and promote friendly relationships among participants, coaches, and parents. RPB is a 100% volunteer organization.
