About

US Arts Education Center Camps and Art Programs offers in-studio art camps that focus on fundamental drawing and painting skills in a friendly and creative environment, including activities such as Art Camp, Soccer-Art, Art Boot Camp, drawing, painting, clay making, hands-on crafts, socializing, physical exercise, and games. Students also have options like an Extended Day Art Class and projects such as creating adorable animal artworks with seasonal backgrounds using colored pencils and watercolor, large-scale acrylic flower paintings on gessoed paper, imaginative bug-inspired artwork, and painting, drawing, and mixed media collage using materials like markers, colored pencils, collage, acrylic markers, acrylic paint, oil pastels, watercolor, pen and ink, chalk pastels, and light charcoal. The school also offers academics in the afternoon and classes ranging from basic drawing and painting skills to college application counselling.

• Ages: 5–12 years old
• Schedule: Spring camp sessions run Feb 16–20, Mar 30–Apr 3, and Apr 6–10, and summer camp runs in weekly sessions from 6/1–6/5 through 8/3–8/7; camp days include a morning art class, a midday lunch break, afternoon academics and crafts, and an optional extended art class.
• Price: Art Camp tuition is $325 per week for Half Day (9am–12pm) and $450 per week for Full Day (9am–4pm), with additional options including clay camp fees, extended day fees, daily drop-in rates, lunch at $8 per day, and stated cancellation fees.

Students may arrive as early as 8:30am for free reading time, and the main camp day runs Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm, with Extended Day Art Class available from 4:00pm to 6:00pm for an additional $50 fee per day or one additional class from the yearly session, except on Tuesdays when the program closes at 4:00pm. Lunch is available for purchase with a set menu that includes chicken nuggets on Monday; turkey sandwich or grilled cheese sandwich on Tuesday and Thursday; and cheese pizza on Wednesday and Friday, with all lunches including fruits and 100% fruit juice. Priority registration is available for students signing up for the full week, and registration for individual days is available starting the Sunday before the camp starts.

All art classes are taught by professional artists and a group of elite fine arts educators who emphasize the combination of Eastern and Western styles and methods. Class sizes are small, with a maximum of 8 students for younger ages and 10 for older ages, and students are grouped by age. US Arts has over 17 years of experience, began in 2002 with 7 students, and has grown to well over 600 students, with many students starting as early as 4 years old and staying until high school graduation. Gift certificates are available. One testimonial from a student, Ann Liu, states that art as an extracurricular activity helped her stand out in college applications and that her MIT interviewer told her, “Everyone in MIT has something special. For you, art is the thing.”
