About
Rising Stars Youth Basketball League is a youth basketball league that includes practice and games. The program focuses on skill development in footwork, speed, agility, dribbling, and passing.
• Ages: 3–13 years old
• Schedule: Inclusive 5 week program with age-grouped practice and game times on specific days
• Price: $160.00
The league is open to boys and girls ages 4–13, with no tryouts and all skill levels welcome in a non-competitive, encouraging setting. The curriculum is tailored to age groups 4–7, 8–10, and 11–13, and younger players use lowered hoops for age-appropriate baskets. Players have the flexibility to advance to higher levels as they grow. Rising Stars Youth Basketball League is part of the Non-Profit Child and Family Comprehensive Health Outreach.
The leadership team includes Sports Director and coach Verne Brooks Jr., who has over ten years of coaching experience, and Coach Julian. The mission of the Rising Stars Development League is to create a place where kids feel empowered, supported, and excited to grow both on and off the field.
Parents describe the coaches as kind, supportive, friendly, and professional, and note that practices are well structured and fun, with clear expectations and individual attention. Multiple parent testimonials state that their children learned a lot about basketball fundamentals and drills, enjoyed the practices and games, and wanted to return to the program. Several parents recommend the league, including comments that it is an excellent or amazing place to learn basketball, that the environment is inclusive and encouraging, and that coaches focus on true basketball fundamentals while having fun.
