The program is part of a coding school whose flagship after-school program, Code Coaching, uses a 2:1 teaching ratio with individualized curriculum, and whose camps use a ratio of around 6:1 and are taught by expert Code Coaches. This school is part of a nationwide system of over 70 locations that teaches over 7,000 students every week with more than 1,000 expert Code Coaches. The leadership team includes Hansel and Wayne, who have been business partners for almost 30 years.

The organization behind the program was founded in 2014 and is headquartered in Silicon Valley, and it describes itself as Silicon Valley’s first nationwide kids coding program. Its mission states that kids learn to code and explore AI technologies, with a focus on how AI works, how to use it responsibly, and how to think critically about technology. The mission also states that every kid is different, so the program uses custom projects built to suit each student and focuses on consistent problem solving and understanding technology fundamentals, including how the internet works and what makes up artificial intelligence.

The program offers a Digital Arts Studio for digital design using cutting edge tools, and no coding is needed for this activity. As a longtime partner of the Congressional App Challenge, the organization helps encourage innovation through coding across the country and plans to collaborate on a national recognition program beginning in 2025–2026. One of its students, Shreya Aghi, was named winner of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge in California’s 11th District by Nancy Pelosi, and the organization also recognizes monthly app winners such as Leo (age 9) from West County, MO, whose Scratch app “Math Quiz” was the May 2026 winner.

Parent testimonials describe customized curriculum for STEM concepts via coding, engaging online classes, and online spring break camps where kids create games and continue working on them between sessions, as well as excitement about Scratch camps and plans to return.
