Bay Jiu-Jitsu Kids Program and Summer Camps is part of Bay Jiu-Jitsu, which offers world-class kids and adults programs in Mill Valley and San Francisco and is known as one of the most welcoming and competitive martial arts schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. The kids jiu-jitsu team participates in local, state, national, and international tournaments, often as part of Rdojo, a multi-gym grappling team and training group founded by Reilly Bodycomb. The program is built around five core values: It’s Fun Because It’s Hard, Actively Progressing, Ownership, Inclusivity, and What We Learn on the Mat, We Take Into the World, and takes place in a dogma-free training environment focused on a comprehensive, cutting edge, and effective approach to martial arts regardless of the rule set.
Founder and Co-Head Coach Stephan Goyne has been training and competing in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu since 1998 and received his black belt in 2010 after winning numerous gold medals at brown belt level in national and international tournaments, including the IBJJF American Nationals, East Coast NAGA, and the American Cup. He later expanded his training into SAMBO and Combat Wrestling, winning gold for the USA in the Veterans 2016 Combat Wrestling World Championships in Hungary, placing second the following year in Japan, and winning the FICW masters World Championships. Bay Jiu-Jitsu began in 2008, opened its first permanent Japantown location in 2010, grew to four Bay Area locations over the next ten years, and after COVID in 2020 forced closure of three gyms, is now back in the Japantown gym and fully operational. The organization offers flexible pricing with discounts for teachers, first responders, full-time students, and low-income families. Its stated vision is to provide accessible, world-class training for people of all ages, sizes, genders, and backgrounds through martial arts and fitness classes, online content, products, events, and community.
