Sunset Academy of Dance

Sunset Academy of Dance offers tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, Children's Tap/Jazz, and Children's Combo Classes. Tap classes include Broadway style and rhythm tap, jazz classes emphasize technique, alignment, musical variation, and jazz combinations, contemporary combines modern, jazz, lyrical, and classical ballet, and hip hop focuses on specific steps and rhythms in a high-energy style.

Programs

• Tap — Various styles of tap are presented ranging from Broadway style to the more syncopated jazz style of “rhythm tap”.
• Jazz — Emphasizes technique, alignment, musical variation, and jazz combinations.

At a glance

• Current session: 2027 Dance Show (May 29–May 30, 2027)
• General schedule: Classes are offered for the 2026-2027 dance season. Monthly tuition is due each month for the dance year from August to May. Annual show in early June each year. Show week rehearsals: May 24th-May 28th. Classes are open and accepting new students.

About the provider

Sunset Academy of Dance opened in October 1997. Lisa Brown is the owner and has been teaching dance to all ages for over 42 years. The studio states that it offers exceptional dance training and education in a small studio environment and focuses on developing confidence, coordination, musicality, rhythm, team work, and a love for dance. Competition groups have won many top awards at numerous competitions, and the studio has an annual show each year with opportunities for students to perform in a professional show.
