LearnUp Reading Tutoring offers reading tutoring through one-on-one tutoring sessions that use a Structured Literacy curriculum aligned to the Science of Reading. The program includes a Structured Phonics Training Workshop, Summer Reading Intensives, and the use of decodable chapter books so students can practice new reading concepts within a storybook environment. Half of every tutoring session is spent reading books, using a hands-on, experiential approach with a tactile, multi-sensory magnetic board to actively teach phonics.

• Schedule: Ongoing enrollment all year round with tutors available to fit the child’s needs and schedule; in 3–4 months of tutoring, the average LearnUp student increases word fluency by more than 50%, gains over 44 words per minute in fluency, and jumps about 2 reading grade levels

LearnUp Reading Tutoring offers a free reading assessment to get started. The program uses a Structured Literacy curriculum that integrates best practices of Orton-Gillingham based programs, speech therapy, structured phonics, and the latest in brain research. LearnUp Centers teaches struggling readers, with or without a diagnosis of dyslexia, to read in about half the time of other reading programs, with evidence-based results showing large gains in word fluency and reading grade levels in under 3–4 months of tutoring. LearnUp books are exciting adventures that align to the structured phonics program and can also be used with other phonics programs, and there is a decodable book series for every level and age of learner.
LearnUp is a nonprofit with a mission to reach and teach struggling readers in every community to read with confidence using its structured literacy program. LearnUp scholarships are offered on a sliding scale based on family need and the availability of scholarship funds. According to one parent testimonial, LearnUp is described as efficient, with strong results while being less time intensive and costly than other programs that required 2–3 hours a day for several months.
