Our Kids First After School Program & Summer Learning Camp includes after school tutoring support during the school year and a Summer Learning Camp. The program offers a variety of themed and project-based activities such as Sports Day, Prince & Princess Day, Super Hero Day, Cereal Break Time for Olivia, Lego Story Board Activity, Blue Dolphin Story Board, Storyboard Presentation Day, a “How do we make the world a better place” project, and a Social Distancing Community Food Giveaway Day.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Orientation/Application Day on August 12, 2025, with the program running from August 18, 2025, until June 3, 2026, Monday through Friday from 2:30–6:00 PM
• Price: Implementation costs include a $75.00 application fee and an $85.00 deposit, with a first month fee of $85.00 (first month total $245.00), a $150.00 fundraising fee that can be split into 5 payments of $30.00, an Implementation + Fundraising Installment Fee of $275.00, and an option to pay $395.00 for Implementation + Full Fundraising Fee, after which the monthly fee is $85.00
Our Kids First was founded in 1987 and gained its 501 (c) 3 status in 1991. The organization states that it is committed to providing academic, social, and cultural enrichment to young people by educating and preparing them to be successful, independent and responsible members and leaders of society. The leadership team includes Executive Director Jackie Manion, Program Liaison Delia Fitzpatrick, and board members Shawn Surratt, Kevin Tucker, and Craig Jones.
Our Kids First is a fundamental partner of the OMICC (Oceanview, Merced, Ingleside – Community Collaborative) in District 11 with District Supervisor Ahsha Safai, meeting monthly and sharing resources with other organizations such as the OMI/Beacon Youth Center, YMCA Stonestown, and Out of Site Youth Center. The program lists formal and informal partners including District 11 Supervisor Ahsha Safai, San Francisco Christian Center, Citywide Tutorial Program/SFUSD, OMI Community Collaborative, DCYF (Department of Children, Youth & Families), Longfellow Elementary, San Francisco Christian School, Bank of America, United Way, PG&E, Children's Council of San Francisco, AT&T, Community Health, and America's Charities. The program notes that it has stressed educational excellence in youth for over 30 years, has provided an assistance program for inner city youth that included tutoring, counseling, training and guidance, and that summers are meant to be both educational and fun with enrichment, including activities such as a Social Distancing Community Food Giveaway Day.
