With over two decades of experience, Pacific Preparatory is an accredited virtual school offering one-on-one courses for credit and tutoring services for K–12 students. Its mission is to provide personalized, one-on-one education as an accredited virtual private school and tutoring service, tailoring learning to each child's unique needs with a focus on care, respect, and a commitment to excellence. Pacific Preparatory is fully accredited by Cognia, and its courses are NCAA and UC-approved, including AP and Honors.
Pacific Preparatory offers personalized programs to support every stage of a child’s educational journey from youngest learners to college-bound seniors, with specialized programming for students with learning differences, giftedness/twice-exceptionality, elite athletes, worldschooling families, and those needing single AP/Honors or credit recovery courses. Instruction is based on research-backed one-on-one teaching tailored to each student’s learning style, with student-centered curricula built around each child’s learning needs, goals, and interests. The program also uses tangible, engaging physical materials that complement online instruction, and provides executive function coaching to support organization, time management, and independent learning strategies, along with further support such as academic acceleration and student-driven enrichment based on each student’s curiosities and interests.
Each instructor undergoes a rigorous vetting process and is required to have extensive teaching experience; instructors each hold a bachelor’s degree, and many have advanced degrees or credentials. The team is made up of educators, parents, and community leaders, and the organization reports higher teacher retention rates compared to industry standards. Founder Jesse Roselin’s late mother is the namesake of The Robbie Engelmann Scholarship.
Through The Robbie Engelmann Scholarship, the Engelmann Education Foundation awards scholarships for a year of one-on-one tutoring to K–12 students in Title 1 schools, providing weekly academic support, mentoring, study skills coaching, and social-emotional learning throughout the school year.
Parents and professionals describe Pacific Preparatory as providing a student-centered approach to the college application process and as a go-to service for one-on-one academic instruction. Testimonials note clear understanding of students’ academic standing, effective SSAT test prep support, and instructors who are knowledgeable, passionate, and devoted to teaching. Families and consultants report positive experiences with specific instructors and staff members, and some students have completed all four years of high school through Pacific Preparatory before enrolling at highly selective colleges.
