JCYC Youth Programs offers youth-focused programs that run on weekdays. The program operates on a consistent daily schedule and includes multiple program options such as Nikkei Community Internship (NCI), Upward Bound (UB), and the Mayor’s Youth Employment and Education Program (MYEEP). JCYC Youth Programs has been enriching the lives of youth from diverse communities in the San Francisco Bay Area since 1970.
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:30 AM–5:30 PM
JCYC’s mission is to cultivate and enrich the lives of children and youth from diverse, multicultural communities throughout San Francisco and beyond. The programs serve over 7,000 children and youth from all ethnic backgrounds in San Francisco and Daly City. JCYC Youth Programs provide affordable, high quality of care for over 550 children a year. The programs put over 3,700 youth a year to work through workforce programs and help over 2,800 students a year prepare and plan for post-secondary education.
A participant in the Nikkei Community Internship (NCI) in 2023 stated, “I can proudly say that participating in NCI has been an impactful experience that has altered my life for the better.” A participant in Upward Bound from 2022–2024 shared that “JCYC Upward Bound has…provided me with numerous opportunities to grow.” A participant in the Mayor’s Youth Employment and Education Program (MYEEP) from 2022–2024 said, “MYEEP has given me the opportunity to learn leadership skills, gain confidence, practice public speaking...”
