theCoderSchool is described as Silicon Valley’s first nationwide kids coding program and the largest in Silicon Valley, with more locations on the way around the country. It has been headquartered and founded in Silicon Valley since 2014, and is also described as founded in 2013. The mission states that learning to code builds critical thinking skills for anyone who wants to thrive in tomorrow's AI-centric world, and that the program teaches kids to think logically, explain their ideas, and problem-solve creatively rather than just rely on AI for easy answers. The mission also states that every kid is different, so they are taught with custom projects built to suit each student, and that coding is presented as consistent problem solving and understanding technology fundamentals, from how the internet works to what makes up Artificial Intelligence.

As a longtime partner of the Congressional App Challenge, theCoderSchool helps encourage innovation through coding across the country and plans to collaborate with the Challenge beginning in 2025–2026 on a national recognition program for top student applications. One student, Shreya Aghi, was named winner of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge in California’s 11th District by Nancy Pelosi. Parent testimonials describe customized curriculum, engaging online classes, helpful coaches and staff, and kids enjoying Scratch camp and online coding lessons, including comments from parents in New Jersey, California, Georgia, and Connecticut.
