theCoderSchool Summer Camps are part of a system founded in Silicon Valley, with founding dates listed as 2013 and 2014. The broader program is described as Silicon Valley’s first nationwide kids coding program and includes an after-school drop-off and virtual program called Code Coaching, a Digital Arts Studio using tools like Blender for 3D graphics, and an AppStream product for newer coders through an online weekly video format. Camps are taught by expert Code Coaches, and the system teaches over 7,000 students every week with the support of more than 1,000 expert Code Coaches.

The program’s mission states that every child is viewed as unique and mentored that way, with custom projects built to suit each student and a focus on understanding how AI works, how to use it responsibly, and what makes up artificial intelligence. The mission also notes an emphasis on creativity, problem solving, confidence, and understanding technology fundamentals, summarized in the phrase “Learn to code. Change the world®.”

theCoderSchool is a longtime partner of the Congressional App Challenge (CAC) and is collaborating with CAC beginning in 2025–2026 on a national recognition program to identify top student applications from thousands of submissions. Its National Top App of the Month program selects the best app out of hundreds submitted nationwide by students, and student Shreya Aghi was named winner of the 2023 Congressional App Challenge in California’s 11th District for work connected with Bay Area Community Resources on tobacco cessation among teenagers.

Parent testimonials describe customized curriculum, engaging online classes, helpful coaches and staff, and kids enjoying Scratch camps and online spring break camps, with comments from families in New Jersey, California, Georgia, and Connecticut.
