Dana Smith Show Team, Inc. offers horse training, horse riding lessons, and horse riding camps with a hunter/jumper rider program. The program also includes a hunter/jumper lessons, camps, and sales program, along with a team show schedule, a show team, and team logo wear. In addition, the program provides equine shipping up and down California and imports multiple European warmbloods each year through Jett Martin Sport Horses.
Dana Smith Show Team, Inc. was established in 1983, and Dana is celebrating 41 years of training aspiring equestrians. Dana has been the Founder, Owner, and Trainer of Dana Smith Show Team, Inc. from 1983 to the present and has provided equine shipping up and down California from 1978 to the present. The leadership team includes Dana Smith as Founder, Owner, and Trainer; instructor and trainer Greg Solente; and team members Katie Gieser, Nicole Kang, and Jamie Sailor, with “PEDRO” referred to as “The real boss.” Greg has completed the United States Hunter Jumper Association Trainer Certificate Program, and Dana is a Certified Instructor with the United States Hunter Jumper Association for 17 years, carries a Class “A” Commercial Driver’s License, is trained and a member of the Large Animal Rescue Team (LART), worked as a Veterinarian Technician at Equine Veterinarian Associates Hospital in Yorba Linda from 1979 to 1982, and trained at Big K Stables in Santa Ana from 1978 to 1983. Dana has served on the Orange County Horse Show Association (OCHSA) Board of Directors since 1994, including 27 years as President, Vice President, or Treasurer and as Chairperson of the OCHSA Championship Horse Show Committee for 26 years, organizing the yearly championship show. Dana also served on the Interscholastic Equestrian League (IEL) Board of Directors from 2001 to 2022, including 16 years in the Office of Secretary and 14 years as Scholarship Committee Chair, and has been on the San Juan Capistrano Equestrian Coalition (SJCEC) Board of Directors since 2009, serving on committee yearly fundraisers. Dana has been awarded “Trainer of the Year” 16 years by the Interscholastic Equestrian League (IEL). The program’s stated mission is, “Allow Us to Make your Equestian Dreams come True.”
