St. James Christian Schools Preschool Program

St. James Christian Schools Preschool Program includes chapel, crafting and art projects, learning to recognize sight words, learning to write the letters and alphabet, basic Spanish, and recycling activities. The program uses a play-based curriculum in a structured environment with the help and supervision of an experienced teacher. Children interact in a multi-age community and have class pets available for them to interact with while teachers teach them about respecting classmates and animals, as well as spiritually through chapel and environmentally through recycling.

The program is part of St. James Christian Schools and is led in part by Ms. Tina. The stated mission is to create a nurturing, stimulating, and welcoming environment which fosters a child's mental, social, emotional, and physical growth. One parent, who is an alumni of St. James Pre-school (Class of 89), describes a play-based learning method that included chapel, learning sight words, writing letters and the alphabet, basic Spanish, and recycling, and notes that both of their sons attended the preschool program. Multiple parent testimonials describe the school as a smaller tight community with a multi-age community, van pick up and drop off, class pets, and teachers who welcome kids’ ideas for projects and programs.
