About
The Youth in the Arts Program includes hands-on experience and training in theatre, music, comedy, dance, production, and technology. Students learn event production from concept through completion, including booking talent, creating basic budgets, understanding production processes, and working on stage and event management. The program also involves concert promotions and marketing, event lighting and design, sound engineering, mixing, recording, video production, editing of events, and planning, and it culminates with students participating in, producing, promoting, and running a live event.

The Youth in the Arts Program is part of Curtain Call Performing Arts, whose mission is to promote and produce programs in theatre, music, comedy, concerts, dance, training, and performance experiences for youth and adults. Curtain Call Performing Arts states that the program is designed to nurture students’ talents and gifts by teaching techniques and giving them tools to develop and perfect their production and performance skills, and that it gives students chances to explore their inner artist while challenging them to stretch beyond their comfort zone as a producer, performer, musician, and entertainer. Curtain Call Performing Arts is dedicated to making sure that students who have a drive to learn can participate in workshops and are given an opportunity to take part. Curtain Call Performing Arts also offers assembly performance programs to school children, families, and adults in surrounding communities, and extends theatre experiences to the general population through its Main Stage Theatre Program, which involves community members of all ages in theatre productions and culturally diverse events.
