About

Children take part in flannel board stories, foreign languages through books, songs, and puppet play, as well as dramatic play with puppets, dress up clothes, blocks, and various props. The program also includes games and group activities, music activities using activity tapes or CDs, large muscle play on an outside area and playground, gardening, and cooking.

• Ages: 0–5 years old
• Schedule: Monday thru Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm

Children explore math through the “Growing with Math” curriculum, counting how many crackers were eaten at snack time, identifying shapes, measuring, sorting, and making comparisons. Science is explored with books, toys, and materials, and art is used as a teaching device and a fun way to play. The program offers year-round, full childcare services with exemplary educational opportunities for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, using a play-based approach and a focus on early childhood development. It includes an Infant & Toddler room, a Preschool program, and an Outdoor Classroom, with play space both indoors and outdoors, classrooms, and an outside area and playground.

The mission of CreArt Early Education & Preschool is to build and cultivate caring relationships with and among children, families, staff, and community; respect and support each child’s uniqueness by embracing and honoring diversity; foster each child’s development of social, emotional, physical, motor, language, and thinking competences; and develop professionally through ongoing training and education for teachers and staff. The program uses an anti-bias education framework with four goals: Identity, Diversity, Justice, and Action, and offers a warm and inclusive space welcoming each child’s unique background, language, and culture. Gardening activities use produce for children’s snacks or to share and take home, and cooking is included in the curriculum. Music is used as an important teaching tool, and the center is a licensed child care center with license numbers LIC#214005364/214005365.

Family and community play a stated role in the program, and CreArt Early Education & Preschool will strive to build collaborative relationships with families, provide volunteering opportunities, and encourage parent participation in family events and school-family field trips. Testimonials from parents describe teachers and staff as loving, caring, patient, and professional, and mention that classrooms and play spaces are clean, organized, and include both indoor and outdoor areas. Parents report experiences with infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children at the program, including communication in Spanish with some teachers, photo and video updates of their child’s day, and children asking to attend on weekends.
