Oakview Preschool includes outside time where children can converse in the sandbox and practice mastering a two-wheel bike. Inside the classrooms, children join inside story groups, take part in science exploration, and participate in yoga as part of the daily routine.

Oakview Preschool describes its mission as nurturing children’s desire to create, explore and grow in a safe and supportive environment that offers them comfort and room to push their own boundaries, with a play-based approach that lets children explore and discover at their own pace. The program’s history notes that in 1977 the Dixie School District leased the Oakview School property to founder Olga Scharninghausen, and that in 2019, after 12 years of teaching the TK class at Oakview, Lindsey Toomajian purchased the school and took over as Head of School and Director.
