Flying Dutchman Gymnastics

Flying Dutchman Gymnastics offers Level 1 for ages 4-6, Level 2 for ages 6-9, and Level 3 for ages 8-13. Level 3 is a 1-hour class with handstands, cartwheels, roundoffs, line tumbling, front handsprings, and back handsprings. About the provider

Flying Dutchman Gymnastics was founded in January 2015. Coach Dirk Ooijkaas is the founder, and Carrie Kelman is the co-founder, owner, and head coach. Dirk Ooijkaas was an Olympic Qualifying Gymnast and Master Clinician. Carrie Kelman has USAGymnastics professional certification and is certified in safety and risk management, USA Gymnastics Fitness, Sport Science, Preschool fundamentals, and Acrobatic Gymnastics. The program states that it is dedicated to repurposing Northgate Mall to serve the Terra Linda and Marin community.

Recreational gymnastics is emphasized over competitive. The gym pro-rates every closure and school vacation. New participants may need additional support from guardians and may be asked to have a guardian help in class. No experience necessary for some classes; willingness to learn is critical for Level 3.
