SJ Art Academy

SJ Art Academy offers in-studio classes for K to 12th grades in watercolor, acrylic paints, colored pencils, collaging, and ceramics. It also offers Digital Art Studio for 6th to 12th grade students, who bring a laptop with drawing tablet or a tablet with a stylus and the drawing program of their choice. After School Art Creations Enrichment Programs and Summer Art Classes are also offered, and supplies and materials are provided for after school enrichment programs and summer art classes except Digital Art.

Programs

• In-Studio Classes K to 12th Grades — K to 12th Grades · $35–$65 per class · Students explore art making techniques and creative expression using watercolor, acrylic paints, colored pencils, collaging, and ceramics.
• Digital Art Studio — 6th to 12th Grade · $65–$70 per class · Students are required to bring a laptop with drawing tablet or a tablet with a stylus, and the drawing program of their choice.
• Adult Art Course — Adults · Programs are offered quarterly in Painting, Drawing, and Mixed Media.
• Portfolio Prep Class — $70–$105 per class · Curriculum is personalized to each student's portfolio and educational/professional goals.
• After School Art Creations Enrichment Programs — Once a week throughout the year; each session occurs over a 4 to 6 week period · Highly structured, stress free, and all supplies and materials are provided.
• Summer Art Classes — Beginning in June through August; full day and half day options available · Structured sessions over a 1 to 12 week period; one-day art classes are available.

About the provider

SJ Art Academy has provided art lessons to students around the Bay Area for over 25 years. All instructors have at least 3 years of teaching experience and have graduated from art programs such as OTIS, SVA, UCLA, LCAD, and more. The academy has also taught after school art programs in local public schools and worked with local organizations on public art projects.

Our classes are arranged by age group, with a 7:1 student to teacher ratio. All classes are not in session when schools are not open. Registration is limited-enrollment and first-come, first-served, with preference for previously enrolled students. All classes will cap enrollment at 6 to 9 students. Any makeup classes must be scheduled within the month, with prior notification of the absence. Payments accepted: Cash, Check, Zelle and bank transfer. No parents are allowed in the studio. Students are dropped off at the front office and picked up at the appropriate time.
