About
The Environmental Science Workshop (High School Program) includes hands-on labs that focus on soil types, soil structure, and permeability. Students take part in interactive lessons on soil horizons, the effects of drought on the environment, environmental laws and regulations, and the water treatment process. The workshop also includes a mini-tour of the treatment plant, with labs and lessons held both outdoors and indoors as part of an innovative high school educational program for environmental science and engaging enrichment activities.

The program is offered by the Santa Clarita Valley Water Agency (SCV Water), which was created on January 1, 2018, by Senate Bill 634 through the merger of three water agencies in the Santa Clarita Valley. SCV Water’s mission is providing responsible water stewardship to ensure the Santa Clarita Valley has reliable supplies of high-quality water at a reasonable cost. SCV Water serves a population of 278,000 through 75,000 retail water connections.
