Soccer Camps offers soccer instruction along with optional swimming. Campers take part in soccer activities and have the option to swim as part of the camp schedule.
• Ages: 6–14 years old
• Schedule: Four-day camps with sessions offered June 15–18, July 6–9, and July 20–23 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm
• Price: $375
Each camp includes a camp T-shirt and lunch in the Mustang Grill. Water stations are placed on the field, and water is always available for campers. Swimming is optional for those who bring swim gear. Camps are not canceled if it rains or is extremely hot; on severe weather days, sprinklers are used to cool campers down, extra water and shade breaks are provided, and “talk time” may be spent in the air conditioned gymnasium. Athletic trainers are on duty for the duration of all camps to care for minor injuries and illness.
Head Coach Jim Rickard and Head Coach Esteban Chavez lead the program along with many current and former Mustangs. The program states that, as a Christian university, it reserves the right to express values and beliefs consistent with its faith-based principles and school motto “For Christ and Scripture.” Families are instructed that players should bring a soccer ball, soccer shoes, water bottle, shin guards, tennis shoes, sunscreen or lip balm, swim trunks or suit, towel, and sandals or flip flops if they want to swim. Players are strongly recommended to wear shin guards and cleats, athletic apparel appropriate for the weather, shorts and a T-shirt, and to pack something warm in case of cooler weather or rain. Campers may bring a snack, and day campers may also bring a snack or lunch, and the use of sun block is highly recommended.
